Only a week remains until the inaugural Almeria Festival of Speed to be held at the Circuit of Almeria at Tabernas on Friday June 29th.
Originally devised as a way to promote the province of Almeria in a different light we have been amazed by the response from all over Spain, Europe and further beyond. People are travelling from all across the globe to attend the free family day out and we plan to make this an annual event on the motorsport calendar.
As well as bikes and cars representing a plethora of manufacturers on track all competing against the clock to record their best lap times, a dream for all speed lovers, (last minute entries are still available at the time of going to press) but there will also be one of the largest displays of classic, sports and racing cars and motorbikes ever seen in Costa Almeria.
There are also motoring related trade stands, plus motorcycle stunt riding. It is not just a boys day out, there will be stalls and exhibitions which will interest everyone and The Festival of Speed has been arranged to coincide with the first week of the Spanish school holidays.
Entertainment will be provided all days by DJ’s, singers and groups with a PA system to keep you informed of the days activities.
You can even venture onto the track yourself as a passenger in a race car driven by a professional driver or if you fancy something a little more sedate how about a lap of the track in a limo whilst enjoying a glass of champagne.
There really is something for everyone at The Almeria Festival of Speed.
Gates open to the general public at 10am and the event runs until 6pm. Due to the advanced interest for the event the circuit have had to take on extra marshals and there will be a €5 charge for the public car parks so please make sure you have a car full of people for the best value.
There is a bar/restaurant on site situated on the last corner which will be a great place to view the
